Randi Bean
President

Randi Bean, founder and president launched Life After Law in 2000. With her legal and human resources backgrounds, she assists lawyers looking to make career transitions by helping them utilize their legal skills in non traditional career paths. As well, she has developed a regular client roster with clients ranging from small start-ups to large multinational companies.

Randi was called to the Ontario Bar in 1996, after obtaining her law degree from Osgoode Hall Law School. She has an undergraduate Bachelor of Arts in Philosophy from the University of Western Ontario.

Randi articled with a small criminal law boutique in downtown Toronto, and continued in this area of practice. Shortly thereafter, Randi recognized her desire to make a career transition. Randi first worked as a Contracts Manager at a large manufacturing company before further transitioning, to work with an HR consulting organization, as well as facilitating communications workshops. It was this transition which set the stage to launch Life after Law.

In the last 10 years, Randi has worked closely with clients and candidates to foster solid, long term relationships. She combines her extensive HR and law experience along with her demonstrated relationship building abilities, to operate a first-rate, service oriented organization, that continually exceeds clients' expectations.

Originally from Vancouver, British Columbia, Michaela Krell has joined Life After Law as a Senior Recruitment Consultant and Director of US Operations. She works closely with candidate lawyers looking to utilize their legal skills in non traditional career paths as well as with clients ranging from small local organizations to large US operations.

Michaela obtained her law degree from Osgoode Hall law school in 2003 and has an undergraduate (honours) Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from McGill University. Michaela is a member of both the Ontario and New York State Bars.

After completing her articles with a reputable civil litigation boutique in downtown Toronto, Michaela transitioned into the legal recruitment industry. At first focusing on domestic recruitment of lawyers, Michaela then moved to an organization specializing in international placements, successfully placing lawyer candidates into some of the largest law firms worldwide. Michaela now focuses on her Canadian and US Client base to help fulfill their various hiring needs by placing lawyers who are ready to transition into in-house or non traditional career path options.

Michaela brings her background in psychology and law along with extensive domestic and international recruitment industry experience to assess both her client and candidate needs, to ultimately find the perfect fit between lawyer candidates and client job opportunities.
