Description:  
Our client is a start-up investment management company – with a principal who has over 25 years of investment experience focusing on Commercial Real Estate. He is looking for a lawyer to join the company to handle all legal matters of the company.

Reporting directly to, and working closely with the President, you will be responsible for handling a wide range of legal matters as they arise within this multi-level corporation’s diverse business holdings. These areas include construction, land development, commercial real estate etc.

The role will include:
- drafting, preparing and reviewing contracts and other legal documents, ie: share purchase agreements; acquisitions; letters of intent;
-attending client and investor meetings, and assisting in the deal brokering
-Analyzing, interpreting and advising on legal and non-legal business matters – to ensure compliance with all levels of law and all contractual relationships
-Managing any outside litigation counsel
-Developing and implementing corporate policies, procedures and methodologies

Exigences:

You are the ideal candidate if you:

• Have an LL.B/ JD, and are admitted to a Canadian Bar.
• Have 2-5 years’ of related legal experience
• Are a quick learner
• Have substantial experience drafting and negotiating various contracts
• Have experience in commercial real estate and corporate law including finance and acquisitions.
• Are a creative, out of the box thinker
• Have experience and a comfort level managing people
• Have a demonstrated ability to work with, and gain confidence of parties
• Have superior planning, prioritizing and time management skills
• Are able to travel
• Have excellent communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
