This is an exciting and unique opportunity for a legal professional with a background in business development and operations!

Our client, an established and reputable insurance company, is looking for an individual that will be passionate about building a new insurance market in Canada. As a key part of the management team, you will be responsible for leading the profitable development of Canada wide sales operations for a product that is tailored to the Legal Community.

This role involves:
•Recruiting, leading, coaching, managing and developing a team
•Planning and supporting new business development and retention within target market
•Developing and implementing sales strategies correlating to set targets
•Developing processes and good business practices both internally and within target market
•Identifying Key Performance Indicators for the business and oversee the performance accordingly
•Building awareness of the Business Market in the legal community
•Ensuring efficient, effective administration and premium collections
•Selecting new potential clients that fit the business profile
•Leading product training seminars in the legal community
•Acting as an ambassador for the company and promoting the strategy and values of the organization
•Developing and maintaining relationships with brokers, principals, law firms and members of the insurance and legal communities
•Working with the Marketing & Sales Support team in developing products & services that will resonate in the market
•Maintaining good internal relationships with company staff and management


You are the ideal candidate if you:
•Have a law degree or equivalent qualifications; practicing Canadian lawyer preferred
•Have good knowledge of the legal community and are well-regarded by lawyers
•Have the ability to lead and coach
•Have a track record of strong operational performance
•Have 5+ years of legal industry experience
•Have a high degree of professional ethics, honesty and integrity
•Have high energy and good organizational skills
•Are a motivated, proactive and a fast learner
•Are deadline driven with the ability to multi-task
•Are detail and solutions oriented
•Are passionate about playing an integral role in an entrepreneurial operation
•Are driven, results-oriented and meet targets consistently with top quality work
•Possess confidence, astute business sense, and superior communication skills
•Are assertive, outgoing and enthusiastic, and has the tenacity required to get people on side in order to get the job done.
•Are innovative, focused and a strategic thinker
•Are a team player with a consensus building style
•Are creative, with a sense of humour and ability to instill fun, excitement in the group
