This is an exciting opportunity to join an organization as a Tribunal Process Manager.

Our client, a large organization, is seeking a Tribunal Process Manager who will be responsible for reviewing, recommending and implementing best practices to the disciplinary hearing process, managing and administering the Adjudicative Tribunals, focusing on the Discipline and Appeal Committees, as well as providing secretariat functions.

Major Responsibilities: 
• Lead and manage all aspects of the disciplinary hearing process from beginning to end, including Tribunal member selection, coordination of legal counsel, overseeing the collection and distribution of meeting materials, bookings, set-up & plans, and attending in the capacity of secretary/clerk; 
• Gather, track and analyze hearing data, and create and prepare reports on relevant analytics and KPIs; 
• Oversee the maintainance and safeguarding of all exhibits and other documents related to a hearing and all Tribunal information; 
• Manage the posting of notices of allegations and hearing dates and related matters on the applicable website; 
• Prepare and format Tribunal decisions and orders, and reasoning for them; 
• Prepare and ensure publication of disciplinary notices as applicable; 
• Update and oversee the processes for accessing the hearings list and disciplinary case reasons posted on applicable websites;
• Follow up on all terms ordered from the Tribunal and take steps to ensure that orders for the payment of fines and costs are satisfied; 
• Review, recommend and implement best practices to improve the Organization’s disciplinary hearing processes;
• Draft summary reports to Council on orders of the Tribunals; 
• Support Tribunal members by acting as a liaison and advising Tribunals on regulatory requirements as set out in the applicable governing documents; 
• Manage the processes for identifying and selecting Tribunal chairs, deputy chairs, public representatives and members;
• Identify and coordinate the training of Tribunal members;
• Lead, manage and mentor the Adjudicative Tribunals Assistant Secretary with tasks as required; 
• Ensure all relevant adjudicative processes and procedures are created, maintained and adhered to; and
• Other responsibilities as assigned by General Counsel.


• An LL.B/J.D. member in good standing with the Law Society of Ontario and licensed to practice in Ontario, would be considered an asset;
• Familiarity with or experience supporting a regulatory tribunal is preferred; 
• Knowledge of applicable Professional Conduct, Bylaws, Regulations, and Rules of Practice and Procedure is preferred;
• Knowledge of and/or experience with regulatory disciplinary processes is required;
•Demonstrated in-depth professional regulatory knowledge and experience is highly preferred; 
• Experience with Business Process Improvement and Re- Engineering is required.
• Demonstrated experience reading and comprehending legislation and other governing documents is preferred; 
• Thorough understanding of administrative law and rules, and administrative tribunal or court procedures and requirements is an asset;
• Strong people management, leadership and mentoring experience;
• Strong analytical skills and experience developing relevant reports and statistical analysis; 
• Proactive, organized self-starter with a proven ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; ascertain priorities and meet deadlines; 
• Strong interpersonal and communication (verbal and written) skills; 
• Proven ability to work both autonomously and with a team; 
• Superior writing skills. Previous experience writing tribunal decisions is an asset; and 
• Sound problem solving, analytical and decision-making skills.
