Our client, a leading provider of mobile computing solutions to a range of industries around the world, is looking to add a Contracts Specialist to its Toronto team.
Reporting to the VP & General Counsel, as well as the Manager, Contracts, you will be responsible for supporting the corporation in understanding legal and contractual risk in commercial transactions, and to negotiate and enter into viable commercial contacts in a timely and effective way.
The role will include:
-negotiation of commercial contracts including: product sales and supply agreements, confidentiality agreements, license agreements, distribution agreements, purchase contracts, joint venture agreements etc.
-preparation of response to RFPs, and conducting risk assessments, drafting term sheets, contract renewals, amendments, POs and other agreements
-applying and implementing legal and contacting policies, practices and procedures
-reviewing contractual documents for adherence to policy and procedure
-monitoring contract status to ensure appropriate integration and communication with all relevant parties is maintained to facilitate execution
-research and monitor applicable legislation
Requirements:
You are the ideal candidate if you:
-have between 4-8 years contact experience
-have strong knowledge of contract law
-have excellent drafting and negotiating skills
-have strong problem solving skills and project management skills
-have solid communication, interpersonal and organizational skills
-are a team player
-have good understanding of business operations
-experience in a multi-national company would be an asset
-experience in Telecom or Aerospace industries an asset
-a second language would be an asset
