Our client, a global management consulting, technology services and outsourcing company is expanding. They are looking to add a Senior Specialist – Labour Relations to their Vancouver team.
Reporting to the Canadian Lead – Employee and Labour Relations, you will be responsible for providing labour and employee relations advice, representing the company at collective agreement negotiations, mediation and adjudication, case management for HR and senior management, and for conducting and resolving complex and sensitive Labour/Employment issues, having broad corporate wide impact.
Your responsibilities will include:
•Providing day to day advice on labour relations, labour/ employment law to management, HR
•Fostering positive beneficial labour relations with the company’s unions
•Developing, recommending and implementing HR and Labour/Employee Relations strategies and processes
•Staying current on labour law, legislative change, union issues
•Participating in guiding/developing the LR specialist and admin support
Requirements:
You are the ideal candidate if you:
•Have relevant knowledge/experience in labour/employee relations and/or HR processes and practices
•Have experience in the interpretation, administration and negotiation of collective agreements, and handling of the grievance/arbitration process
•Have excellent analytical, negotiation, and presentation skills
•Have team leadership skills, with superior interpersonal, issues management and organizational skills
•Have demonstrated ability to build and maintain positive relationships with unions reps, bargaining agents, management,
•Are results oriented and able to manage and prioritize varying workloads and deadlines
