Our client is a rapidly growing, Calgary based leader in electricity transmission. Unprecedented growth has required that they add a number of Energy Regulatory Lawyers to their team. They are now looking to hire an additional Energy Regulatory lawyer in their Regulatory Group.
Reporting to the SVP, Regulatory & Client Services, you will have regulatory accountability for a major electric transmission project, and together with other team members, you will deliver permitting for the project.
Your responsibilities will include:
•Defining regulatory requirements and strategy for project
•Provide direction to the team to ensure a defensible permitting application (senior position)
•Attendance at regulatory hearings
•Directing hearing processes
•Ensuring applications meet all regulatory requirements
Requirements:
You are the ideal candidate if you:
-have an LL.B/JD and other related education
-have a strong regulatory background
-have 6+ years experience
-have experience in energy permitting
-have experience with energy projects and regulation
-have a strong business acumen
-have strong organizational, interpersonal, and time-management skills
-have excellent communication and negotiation skills
-are a team player with the ability to work collaboratively
