Are you an entrepreneurial Real Estate lawyer, looking for a growth opportunity?
 
Our client, an industry-disrupting technology company providing a simplified real estate transaction experience,  is looking to add a forward-thinking Real Estate Lawyer to their Calgary team. 
 
Collaborating with the leadership team,  the Real Estate Lawyer will utilize their experience in residential real estate and mortgages to handle all aspects of Residential Real Estate transactions including purchases, sales, refinances and private lending
 
 
The Role will Include:
 
  • Corresponding with clients, banks, lawyers and others
  • Reviewing and drafting of agreements of purchase and sale, loan documents
  • Drafting transaction documents for the purchase, sale and financing of residential property
  • Attending meetings with clients to receive instructions, review documentation, have documents signed and report on status
  • Liaising with clients, counsel, financial institutions, title insurance companies, land registry offices, etc
  • Resolving potential issues with all parties involved
  • Meeting clients to review documentation and conduct virtual signings.
  • Trust account maintenance
  • Business development activities as needed
 
 You are the ideal candidate if you have/are:
  • A JD and are a member of the Alberta Bar in good standing
  • 2-4 years of experience working as a Real Estate Lawyer in a high-volume environment
  • Forward-thinking, very comfortable with technology and constantly learning (and adopting) new ways of doing things
  • Passionate about delivering a highly responsive, personalized client experience
  • Work exceptionally well in a dynamic and fast-growing team environment
  • Exceptionally client-focused and highly personable and responsive.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly, outgoing disposition.
  • Excellent computer skills, including typing, word processing and email.
  • Reliable, responsible and able to maintain the necessary confidentiality.
  • Highly resourceful with a solution-focused attitude.
  • Able to work independently in a busy team-based environment, while also working well within the existing culture
  • Ability to learn quickly and exhibit humility
  • Membership in the British Columbia Bar is an asset
