Indigenous Business Law Lawyer (Mid-Senior)
Overview
Our client, an established Business law firm based in downtown Vancouver, is looking to add an experienced Indigenous business law lawyer (6+Years) to join their busy and thriving Corporate and Indigenous Law Groups to meet client demand.Job Description:
The successful candidate will assist Indigenous clients and provide trusted legal advice on a variety of high level corporate/commercial matters (corporate structuring, governance) and advise on economic development with a view to building strong partnerships between Nations and industry.
Working alongside leading practitioners in the aboriginal, corporate and commercial real estate arenas, this a fantastic opportunity to work on an array of matters as they relate to indigenous communities.
Requirements:
The ideal candidate will:
- Be a member in good standing of the bar of British Columbia
- Have a minimum of 5 years pf experience advising and representing First Nations clients with respect to economic development projects, general commercial matters and related governance structuring.
- Have a genuine interest in developing a practice to serve Indigenous communities
- Have excellent technical/legal writing skills
- Be a strong team player able to balance working independently and within a team environment.
