Commercial Litigation Lawyer
Overview
Our client, a mid-size law firm in downtown Toronto, is looking to add a Commercial Litigation Lawyer to its growing team. The role will involve working on a broad range of litigation matters. The firm is open to lawyers with various levels of experience. This is a Hybrid role.The role will include:
- Working on a wide variety of files, including commercial litigation, insolvency, commercial insurance claims, mortgage enforcement or construction claims, partition and sale proceedings, actions for specific performance to enforce and injunctive proceedings
- Providing advice to a range of clients, including private lenders and borrowers, property owners, builders, contractors, landlords, real estate brokers, etc.
- Conducting legal research and analysis, file reviews, and preparing memoranda and other documents
- Attending commercial court matters
You are the ideal candidate if you have/are:
- J.D. and a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario.
- 2-6 years of Commercial Litigation experience (More experience welcomed!)
- Experience in Commercial Court
- Experience with insolvency/receivership is an asset
- Experience in property disputes
- Excellent drafting and verbal and written communication skills
- Strong business instinct and acumen
- Ability to handle files independently and as part of a team for complex matters
- Desire to exceed expectations
- Exceptional time management and project management skills, along with an ability to juggle multiple projects/priorities
