Overview

Our client, a well-established law firm in the GTA with a strong reputation for delivering results across a wide range of litigation matters, including civil, commercial, employment, and corporate disputes, is looking to add a Litigation Lawyer to its growing team. The lawyer will handle a variety of litigation files, appear before the Ontario courts and tribunals, and work closely with clients to achieve practical and effective outcomes

The role will include:

Working on a wide variety of files, including general civil litigation, corporate and commercial litigation, estate litigation, mortgage enforcement, construction claims, shareholder disputes, employment, etc.
Managing files from initial consultation through to resolution, including trial or settlement.
Conducting legal research, file reviews and analysis, and preparing written opinions
Drafting pleadings, facta, affidavits, and other legal documents.
Representing clients at examinations, mediations, hearings, and trials.
Providing strategic legal advice and maintaining strong client relationships.
Collaborating with colleagues on complex matters and contributing to the firm's success.

You are the ideal candidate if you have/are:

J.D. and a member in good standing of the Law Society of Ontario.
6-12 + years of Civil/ Commercial Litigation experience (More experience welcomed!)
Strong oral advocacy and courtroom experience.
Excellent legal drafting, research, and analytical skills.
Ability to manage multiple files with attention to detail and deadlines.
Strong interpersonal and client management skills.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Strong business instinct and acumen
Ability to handle files independently and as part of a team for complex matters
Desire to exceed expectations

The compensation range is: $150,000-$200,000, depending on experience and qualifications. Adjustments may apply for candidates with more or less experience than listed. Total compensation may include bonuses, billings split, benefits, or other incentives.
