Senior Business Development Manager - MIAMI, FLA

Overview

Our client is seeking a Business Development Manager with legal training and wealth planning experience to drive new client relationships and business growth in the international trust, estate planning, and wealth structuring space.
 
Based in Miami, a major hub for Latin American private wealth, the successful candidate will act as the primary relationship builder and market-facing representative of the firm, working closely with lawyers, private bankers, and professional advisors who influence high-net-worth clients seeking trust and corporate structuring solutions.
 
This role requires someone who can step in and generate business quickly, leveraging existing professional relationships and a proven track record in trust, wealth planning, or private banking environments. The successful candidate will already be active in the Miami advisory ecosystem and capable of transferring and expanding relationships from previous roles.
 
The Business Development Manager will work closely with internal service teams globally (e.g., US, UK, and other jurisdictions) to structure solutions for clients.
 
Key Responsibilities
  • Draw on your previous experience within professional services (preferably law) to develop and expand business opportunities within the international trust, estate planning, and wealth structuring market.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key influencers and referral sources, including:
    • Private client lawyers
    • Private bankers
    • Wealth planners
    • Family offices
    • Tax advisors
  • Serve as the primary point of contact and "face of the firm" when professional advisors evaluate trust companies for their clients.
  • Present and position the firm's trust and corporate structuring services when advisors are selecting between multiple trust providers.
  • Work with referring advisors to structure trust and wealth planning solutions for high-net-worth individuals and families.
  • Act as the liaison between advisors and internal teams across global service offices to deliver appropriate client solutions.
  • Identify opportunities within the Miami market and other key Latin American private banking hubs, including Houston.
  • Represent the firm at industry events, conferences, and professional gatherings to strengthen market visibility.
  • Maintain deep knowledge of the competitive landscape, including other trust companies and wealth structuring providers operating in the region.
  • Consistently generate new business to meet revenue expectations and support the firm's long-term growth strategy.

The ideal candidate is a commercially driven legal professional with strong industry relationships and the motivation to build business in a competitive and complex environment.
 
Required Experience
  • Qualified lawyer with experience in international estate planning, tax structuring, or private client advisory.
  • Prior experience in one or more of the following environments:
    • Trust companies
    • Private banks
    • Wealth planning or family office advisory
    • International private client law practices
  • Proven ability to develop business and manage professional referral networks.
  • Demonstrated experience working with high-net-worth individuals and families, particularly in cross-border contexts involving Latin America.
  • Ability to enter the role with an established network of contacts and begin generating opportunities quickly.
  • Experience navigating the complex regulatory, tax, and structural considerations involved in international wealth planning.
