Our client is seeking a Corporate Paralegal to support a busy Business Law practice group. This position provides the opportunity to work with a dynamic, team-oriented group of professionals who are committed to mentorship and continuous growth.
 
The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years' experience of related experience working in a Canadian law firm and will be energetic, flexible, highly motivated, and driven to succeed.
 
Job Description:
  • Assisting lawyers with the preparation of legal documents relating to all stages of complex corporate transactions
  • Supporting formation and governance matters for corporations, partnerships, joint ventures, and societies
  • Conducting and reviewing public searches, including corporate searches, PPR registrations, and tax and employment matters
  • Preparing and filing documents for partnerships, limited partnerships, business names, and extra-provincial registrations across Canada
  • Preparing corporate documents including changes to registered/records offices, name changes, share structure updates, director/officer changes, and resolutions
  • Preparing documents for BC societies and federal not-for-profit corporations
  • Managing filings with corporate registries (e.g., BC Registrar of Companies, Corporations Canada)
  • Conducting due diligence reviews of corporate records for transactions
  • Assisting with deficiency reports and transaction support
  • Responding to client inquiries and handling routine corporate matters independently
  • Supporting lawyers, students, and other departments on corporate matters
Requirements:
 
The Successful Candidate Must Have:
  • A paralegal certificate from an accredited institution
  • 6+ years of experience as a corporate/commercial paralegal in British Columbia
  • Strong working knowledge of ALF and BC Online
  • Advanced technical skills (NetDocs, MS Word, Excel, Outlook)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Commitment to delivering high-quality, timely service
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively
  • Strong time management skills and ability to manage multiple priorities

Compensation & Benefits:
  • Salary range: $78,000 - $100,000 annually, depending on experience and qualifications
