Overview

A well-established, highly respected Vancouver law firm is seeking an experienced Commercial Litigation Lawyer to join its growing litigation practice.

This opportunity is ideal for a senior associate or junior partner looking to step into a senior level or income partnership role with a clear and realistic pathway to equity. The successful candidate will work on sophisticated commercial disputes while helping lead significant existing files and continuing to build their own practice within a collaborative and entrepreneurial environment.

Unlike many partnership opportunities, a substantial portable book of business is not required. The firm is looking for a lawyer who can successfully "quarterback" complex litigation matters, develop strong client relationships, and demonstrate leadership within the practice.

The successful candidate will:

Lead and manage complex commercial litigation matters from inception through trial or resolution.
Take ownership of significant existing client files while continuing to develop new business.
Work closely with senior partners on high-value commercial disputes.
Mentor junior lawyers and contribute to the continued growth of the litigation group.
Collaborate across practice areas to provide strategic, client-focused advice.

Requirements:
The ideal candidate will:

Be a member of the British Columbia Bar and have a JD or LLB from an accredited Canadian Law School.
Have approximately 8+ Years of commercial litigation experience.
Have a proven track record of courtroom advocacy in trial and appellate matters.
Excellent Legal Drafting including pleadings, applications, affidavits, written submissions and settlement agreements.
Experience independently managing sophisticated litigation files.
Demonstrated ability to lead files and work collaboratively within a team.
Existing client relationships are an asset but are not essential.
Interest in business development and building a long-term practice.
