This is truly a unique and exciting opportunity for a lawyer to embark on an entirely new path in their career and work as a Corporate Immigration Lawyer at a well established boutique law firm alongside the Managing Partner on Quebec-based, Canadian and US temporary immigration applications for the firm’s clientele.

Prior immigration law experience is considered an asset but is not required for this excellent new role that offers the possibility of an expedited partnership track. The firm’s clients are primarily large and mid-size global and international companies within the IT, new technologies, AI, video games, primary food and beverage production, financial services and entertainment sectors.

As the firm’s Corporate Immigration Lawyer, you will be interacting primarily with the clients’ HR Managers and Legal Counsel as well as with the Senior Management/Executives. It is therefore imperative for all communication to be entirely professional in tone, well drafted and bilingual. In addition to the high emphasis on attention to detail is the firm’s commitment to client service. Exceptional client-service is a cornerstone of their practice. Firm clients are very loyal and include Grammy-award winners, NHL hockey players, Hollywood sitcom writers, as well as the makers of cheese, beer, video games and beauty brands. • Work with the Managing Partner to devise a strategic immigration plan for each assigned case;
• Prepare applications for a wide array of Canadian, Quebec-based and US Work temporary and permanent immigration statuses (i.e. Work Visas, employment authorizations, labour market assessments, validated job opinions, employment-based Green Card and skilled worker Canadian Permanent Residency categories, as well as criminal inadmissibility and rehabilitation, etc.);
• Draft legal briefs using a sophisticated and strategic approach to law;
• Assume full carriage of files with respect to deadlines, eligibility, any potential inadmissibility matters, etc.;
• Correspond regularly with the firm’s corporate clients in a timely manner and handle client consultations;
• Conduct applicable legal research and keep abreast of changes and developments re: applicable laws and regulations;
• Assist the Managing Partner with Quebec Bar Trust Accounts, monthly billing charts and related matters;
• Draft articles and post updates on the law firm’s social media;
• Maintain an energetic, dynamic and positive disposition with clients while handling multiple files and competing priorities.


The ideal candidate will:

• Have a minimum of 3 years of experience working in corporate law or another related practice area (i.e. employment and labour law, tax law, corporate litigation etc.) at a large law firm;
• Immigration law experience an asset - not required;
• Be a member of the Quebec Bar in good standing (other Bar memberships in Canada or the U.S. an asset);
• Have a Bachelor’s Degree prior to attending law school (preferred);
• Be bilingual (English and French); •Have excellent writing and drafting skills;
• Be a proven critical thinker with strong attention to detail;
• Have the ability to handle sophisticated matters in a fast paced environment and demonstrate leadership on files;
• Have strong interpersonal skills and exhibit great empathy and kindness.
