A great opportunity for a Corporate lawyer with an interest in technology and Entrepreneurship, looking for a new challenge!

Our client, a leading National Law firm is looking to add a Corporate Associate, with 3 + year of experience to this progressive and growing subgroup focusing on Emerging and High Growth Companies. As part of this experienced group of practitioners, the successful candidate will have an opportunity to cultivate and develop the growth of early and later stage ventures and help clients maximize their development to ensure long-term success.

This role will also have you working alongside venture capital and growth equity investors and some of the leading and most sophisticated strategic acquirors of technology, globally.


Responsibilities

Working with various companies, often from inception and throughout their growth, you will advise on a range of issues facing emerging ventures including everything from: corporate and tax structuring, to shareholder agreements, to intellectual property plans and approaches to employment- and compensation-related matters, as part of an exciting group with specialized market knowledge.

Requirements

The successful candidate will:

- Be a member in good standing of a Canadian Bar
- Have 3 to 6 years of general corporate and securities law experience (gained in a leading National law firm or reputable boutique)
- Have experience in corporate structuring, venture finance and mergers and acquisitions involving emerging companies
- Exposure to and familiarity with, emerging companies and a demonstrated interest in working on innovative and complex matters in relation thereto - Prior experience with the technology sector is not required but an asset
- An appetite for entrepreneurship
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Top academic credentials
