Our Senior Consultant and Operations Manager

Did you know?

I’ve been a movie buff since early childhood and a 20th century history fanatic.

What is your Current role at Life After Law?

I am the Recruitment & Operations Consultant.

Tell Us a little bit about yourself…

I’ve been happily married for 12 years and I have 3 boys. I recently came to live in Montreal with my family and we love it! No dog for now (but clearly under pressure from my kids).

Where did you go to Law School? Did you always imagine yourself going to Law School/Being a lawyer?

I went to Finis Terrae University in Santiago, Chile. I saw myself being a lawyer but doing “non-lawyer” stuff most of the time.

When did you realize that you wanted your career to go in a different direction? When did you know you wanted to pursue a “Life After Law” career?

Pretty soon! I knew I had a talent for business and sales, and I was also passionate about solving problems. People often looked to me for creative solutions to business problems.

How did you make that transition?

It was tough, because in Chile people don’t always understood that you can go to school for one thing but then do something else. With time it turned out that my Law Degree was the best way of adding value to business. I think a legal mind and training is very well suited for doing business, especially in the problem solving and project management fields.

Did you have any Mentors or Role Models that helped you out along the way?

Fortunately, yes! I was blessed to have several bosses that helped me a lot, especially at the beginning. They were willing to spend some time teaching me and developing my skills in crisis management and attention to detail. Also, I feel blessed to have had good colleagues that were patient and real team players.

What do you enjoy most about your current role?

I love our team- they are very professional, supportive and they are not afraid of change. I felt welcomed since day one. It has really been a very rewarding experience.

What would you do if you had an extra day in your week?

Help others.

What do you do in your Free time?

I love to spend time with my family and friends, and learn new things.
