Family Law Clerk (HYBRID)

Overview

Our client, a mid-size full-service law firm is looking to grow its Toronto office. They are looking for a Family Law Clerk with 5+ years’ experience to join their Family group. This is an exciting opportunity for a Family Law Clerk to join a dynamic firm and further grow their practice in a professional and collaborative firm environment. 
 
 
Responsibilities  
 
In this role you will be responsible for: 
  • Drafting correspondence
  • Liaising with process server to serve and file court documents
  • Scheduling appointments and maintaining appointment calendar
  • Maintaining files/records with a high level of organization
  • Coordinating arrangements for meetings/conferences and Court appearances
  • Preparing affidavits, financial statements and other court documents;
  • Communicating with clients to obtain documents and information and to provide assistance;
  • Communicating with other law firms, the Court, and third parties, as needed;
  • Managing deadlines, to-do lists, deliverables and the tickler system;
  • Other administrative duties, as needed.
 
 
Requirements  
 
You are the ideal candidate if you have/are:
  • Diploma from a recognized Ontario Law Clerk program certified with The Institute of Law Clerks of Ontario;
  • At least 5+ years of relevant experience;
  • Understanding of family law procedures and processes, including the Family Law Rules
  • A proactive individual with outstanding organizational skills, a positive outlook, and adeptness at teamwork.
