Business and Legal Sales Development Manager

Our client is a dynamic mid-sized business-focused law firm offering a refreshing attitude, client-centred legal services to their high-level business, technology, corporate and real estate clientele in a collegial, supportive, entrepreneurial environment.
As the firm expands their global presence, they are seeking to add a former lawyer who is passionate about Sales and Business Development as their BD & Sales Manager!
The Business Development Manager will be an integral part of the firm working alongside the founding partners, dedicated to promoting the firm’s legal services with authenticity, integrity and enthusiasm.
The successful candidate will be confident, and extroverted and adept at building and nurturing relationships, possessing a keen understanding of client needs and skilled at identifying opportunities for collaboration and growth.
The Business Development Manager will be able to showcase the firm’s services and their benefits to potential clients in a novel, ‘non-typical sales’ manner. Your honestly, persistence and commitment to delivering exceptional results will be the driving force behind your success!
  • Participate in strategic planning for upcoming events, with a focus on Gaming and Gambling, Sports Law, Legal, and Finance sectors.
  • Attend conferences and events globally to represent the firm and network with potential clients and identify business opportunities.
  • Facilitate post-show follow-up, including contacting and nurturing leads, and maintaining relationships with existing clients.
  • Assist in implementing and managing a CRM platform to streamline sales processes and enhance client management.
  • Engage in proactive business development initiatives to expand their client base and strengthen their market presence.
  • Actively participate in local networking opportunities to build connections and the firm within the legal community.
  • A law degree (or equivalent qualifications (Business Degree)); former practicing Canadian lawyer preferred.
  • 3+ years of legal industry experience, with a background in sales and networking.
  • Proven track record in sales, business development or client relationship management
  • Have good knowledge of the legal community and are well-regarded by lawyers
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to prioritize and manage multiple tasks effectively.
  • Are a team player with a consensus building style.
  • Self-motivated and results-oriented, with a passion for delivering exceptional client service.
  • Willingness to travel globally for conferences and events as needed.
