Head of Legal Network

Our client, an industry-disrupting technology company providing a simplified real estate transaction experience, is looking to add a forward-thinking Head of Legal Network to their team. 
  
Reporting to the CEO, the Head of Legal Network will utilize their legal, business and management experience to oversee daily legal operations and manage a high-quality lawyer network.
  
The Role will Include:
  
  • Developing and executing strategies to expand the company’s model to prospective members
  • Recruiting, developing, and managing high-quality lawyers to join the company’s network
  • Mentoring and supporting lawyers to ensure satisfaction, adherence to brand standards, and achievement of performance metrics
  • Overseeing the onboarding process for new members
  • Monitoring performance and implementing improvement plans
  • Engaging in business and brand development, as needed
  • Collaborating with internal teams to enhance the value proposition for network lawyers
  • Building and maintaining relationships with key stakeholders, including the legal community and regulators
  • Analyzing market trends and competitor activities to inform growth strategies
  • Designing and delivering training programs for network lawyers
  • Ensuring compliance with legal and ethical standards across the network
  • Providing ongoing education and updates to network members on regulatory and industry changes
  • Managing risk and compliance
  • Overseeing the daily legal operations involved in real estate transactions, including reviewing and negotiating contracts and agreements, title examination and searches, and escalation on legal matters
  
You are the ideal candidate if you have/are:

  • J.D./LL.B. and member in good standing of a Canadian Bar
  • MBA or equivalent business experience
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in legal practice, with an understanding of corporate law, risk management, privacy regulations and practice management
  • A self-starter and a driven business builder, unafraid to challenge traditional practices, and disrupt the status quo
  • Business-driven and understand metrics, business management, and relationship-building
  • Deeply committed to identifying, nurturing and growing fellow lawyers
  • Demonstrated leadership and mentoring abilities
  • A proven track record in business development, sales, or franchise management is an asset
  • An entrepreneurial mindset
  • Adept at dealing with ambiguity in a fast-paced, urgent environment
  • Strong business acumen with the ability to prioritize
  • Relationship-driven with superior organizational skills
  • Experience in Real Estate law is an asset
