Life After Law is expanding, and we're looking for an experienced, commercially minded legal professional to join our team as a Senior Consultant, Legal Recruitment & Client Development.This is not a traditional recruiting role—and it's certainly not a typical legal job.

The Opportunity
As a Senior Consultant, you will operate as a strategic advisor to law firms, in-house legal teams, and senior legal leaders across Canada. You will own and grow client relationships, lead searches end-to-end, and play a meaningful role in the continued growth of Life After Law's national practice.
You will be given autonomy, accountability, and significant upside, alongside the support of a well-established brand with a 25+ year reputation in the legal market.
What You'll Do
- Build, expand, and manage long-term relationships with law firms and in-house clients
- Lead business development efforts, including identifying new opportunities, markets, and client needs
- Act as a trusted advisor to clients on hiring strategy, market conditions, and talent planning
- Source, assess, and represent high-calibre legal talent across a range of practice areas and seniority levels
- Manage full-cycle searches—from initial client conversations through to successful placement
- Conduct high-volume, high-quality outreach by phone, video, and in-person meetings
- Represent Life After Law within the legal and business communities through networking and relationship building
- Are a lawyer or senior legal professional exploring a credible and respected alternative career path
- Are commercially driven and enjoy relationship-based sales and advisory work
- Thrive in an entrepreneurial environment with autonomy and accountability
- Have a proven ability to set ambitious goals and consistently meet or exceed them
- Are confident, persuasive, and comfortable leading senior-level conversations
- Build trust easily and maintain long-term professional relationships
- Have strong business judgment, negotiation skills, and executive presence
