Director, Tax and Estate Planning
Overview
This is an excellent opportunity to work as a Director, Tax and Estate Planning at a national company, advise on complex initiatives and support clients, advisors and long term business growth. The Director will strategically guide and play an integral role in the senior leadership team, while collaborating across different business units on stimulating and innovative matters. This is an amazing senior level non traditional opportunity for a seasoned Tax and Estate Planning lawyer or Accountant to work at a leading company. This is a hybrid role in Montreal, in Quebec or in Ontario.
Responsibilities:
- Participate as a member of the Senior Management team and advise re: corporate strategy and direction;
- Ensure teams are current and effective re: product application and technical knowledge;
- Ensure business growth and advise and consult on sophisticated matters;
- Collaborate with stakeholders re: business solutions, concept development and support;
- Develop tax and estate planning strategies, product development and presentations;
- Design and conduct presentations to internal and external stakeholders;
- Advise re: creation of web content, supporting documents, case studies and marketing materials;
- Monitor, review and communicate the impact of federal and provincial laws re: products, advisors and marketing content;
- Act as a subject matter expert with media and business initiatives as applicable;
- Engage in strategic meetings re: marketing and distribution matters;
- Support professional development initiatives; and
- Prepare annual department performance and KPIs.
Experience:
The ideal candidate will have/be:
- A law degree and member of the Quebec Bar or another provincial Bar, or an Accounting degree is an asset;
- A minimum of 5 years of pertinent experience in a senior role with people leadership experience;
- Solid experience in insurance in tax and estate planning;
- Experience in insurance products and sales strategies, and marketing;
- Solid research, writing, and analytical skills;
- Strong analytical, interpersonal and problem solving abilities;
- Demonstrated strategic planning and business acumen;
- Excellent communication and presentation skills; and
- Bilingual (French and English)
