A unique quasi-legal position for a (ideally Mandarin-Speaking) Banking/Financial Services/Tax, Lawyer with strong BD and Marketing experience and acumen, looking for a unique and exciting non-traditional opportunity with great upside and growth! (Vancouver based / Hong Kong – Short Term).

Our client, a leading global corporate, fiduciary and trust administrator is seeking a Vice-President of Corporate and Fiduciary Services to head up their Vancouver office.

The successful candidate will be responsible for establishing and maintaining client relationships with law and accounting firms as well as financial institutions located in Vancouver (and the US West Coast) on behalf of the organization.

The target market comprises those professional and institutional firms that cater to the tax, asset protection and estate planning needs of Asia-based individuals and families.

Although based in Vancouver, for training purposes the successful candidate initially will be based in the Group's Hong Kong office. Following completion of the training, the successful candidate will be back in the Vancouver Office.


Responsibilities

• Oversight and management of the company’s Vancouver representative office
• Business Development and Client Maintenance
• Reporting to the Group’s International Marketing Director
• Supervising marketing visits of Group personnel to Vancouver and other West Coast cities
• Travel as required by Group offices and client situations

Requirements

The individual must be a 'self-starter' with the confidence, skills and ability to work with limited supervision, plus possess excellent inter-personal skills, specifically, the ability to:

• Be familiar with the legal and regulatory regimes in the company’s various jurisdictions
• Be knowledgeable about the FATCA and CRS exchange of information regimes
• Be familiar with Canadian and US taxation rules applicable to foreigners and inbound investors

i. Discuss legal and regulatory topics on a professional level with other professionals;
ii. assist clients in satisfying due diligence and compliance requirements of the Group
iii. effectively explain the services offered by the company in the context of the needs of a professional or institutional intermediary’s clients
iv. Collaborate closely with the organizations colleagues worldwide
v. Speak at industry conferences
