Our client, a fast-growing start-up in the legal technology sector is expanding their team. They are looking for a dynamic, business minded corporate lawyer to help expand their business in the American market as Head of Business, Corporate USA. Reporting to the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Business, Corporate USA will be a champion for all stakeholders in the design and commercialization process. This role will wear multiple hats – part Product Manager, part Sales and Marketing. If you are the right candidate, you will be looking to get your hands dirty in all areas of the business.


Responsibilities

The Role will Include:

• Product Management- taking learnings from multiple sources such as user interviews, developer discussions, customer success discussions, and sales discussions to further develop their platform. Being the hub between the customer, the business, and the development teams.
• Sales and Marketing- Leading the definition of the sales approach (in collaboration with the sales team lead), performing demos, defining the marketing strategy and content (in collaboration with the marketing team).
• Defining & communicating the overall vision, objectives and goals and articulating the minimum viable product needs. Collaborating in creating a product roadmap based on this vision.
• Representing the business team in prioritizing the features for development; approving user stories and ensuring clear communication flows back and forth.
• Helping to shape and execute the product strategy that meets the product goals, engaging in business case development, and ensuring adherence to the process.
• Representing the company to external stakeholders, leaders and other teams to ensure alignment and communication of progress.
• Collaborating with sales and marketing teams to define product specific strategies and support the creation of copy for website, emails, etc.
• Collaborating with prospective users and clients to understand and anticipate their needs and translate them into product requirements.
• Creating and refining well-formed user stories and artifacts that describe and detail new products, features and services based on feedback from teams, and creating acceptance criteria with the team, and accepting stories as they are completed.
• Creating, refining, socializing, and prioritizing the product backlog and enabling delivery of product backlog by presenting backlog to team.
• Working daily with scrum teams to refine, groom, and accept stories and bugs for implementation.
• Identifying opportunities for process optimization and redesign that will allow the company to accomplish objectives more quickly and at a higher level of probability.
• Championing change and effectively managing the implementation of new ideas.
• Partnering with cross-functional teams to build, prioritize and define workflows and requirements.
• Supporting and soliciting input from team members at all levels within the organization.

Requirements

You are the ideal candidate if you have/are:

• A JD, and a degree in Business, Engineering, or another related field.
• 3+ years of US Corporate/Business Law experience from California, Illinois, New York, Texas, or Florida.
• Intellectual curiosity and genuine passion for corporate law and legal technology
• A good understanding of business trends and lawyers’ practice needs
• A proven record of leadership
• Exceptional analytical and quantitative problem-solving skills.
• Able to manage change and ambiguity and find ways to advance work/projects.
• An innovative and creative thinker and have a curiosity for business.
• The ability to work effectively with people at all levels and departments
• The ability to collaborate and work with others to deliver results.
• Ability to communicate complex ideas effectively.
• Energetic, driven, and tenacious.
• Advanced written and oral communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills
• Excellent attention to detail
• Bilingualism in French would be an asset.
• Previous experience working in a Product Manager capacity is an asset.
• Previous experience working for a SaaS or B2B technology company is an asset.
